GyanSetu program is an initiative to cater the primary education requirement of marginalized communities’ children. A GyanSetu Kendra (community education centre) establishes in the marginalized communities. This program engages to the local volunteer as teachers to conduct classes for the children through creative and joy learning process: learning games, using Teaching Learning Material-TLM, creative exercise, debate. Teachers teach to children on their school curriculum with focus subject: Hindi, Math, English, GK and Moral/value based education. Basic teaching and facilitation skill provides to the teachers to implement & conduct the learning/teaching activities with children. This community education centre enrolled to the children from the marginalized; those who are not enrolled in school, school drop-out children, children not able to achieve expected learning level, and children required support to continue their education.
Overall goal and objectives of GyanSetu is “bridging the gaps of learning in children of marginalized communities and mainstreaming to them in available & existing primary education system” through Establishing GyanSetu Kendra (community education center), helping the transition among slow-learner, drop-out and out of school children’s into formal schooling. This initiative support to marginalized communities to promote education and work for
• Identification of drop-out, out of school and slow learner children.
• Addressing Drop-out, out of school and slow-learner children and work to mainstreamed to them in formal education.
• Ensuring the enrollment of children in school.
• Working to improve the learning and retention level of children in school.
• Sensitizing to parents/families on the importance & values of education.

Currently, GyanSetu program is being implemented in Harringtonganj block of district Ayodhya and Mangraura block of district Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. Total 4 GyanSetu centres is being implemented and facilitated; 2 in each block. SATHI is as a lead partner facilitating; 2 centres in Mangraura block in the partnership with Gram Vikas SewaSansthan-GVSS and 2 centres facilitating directly in Harringtonganj block. Total 211 children (108 girls and 103 boys) benefitted from the GyanSetu Kendra activities.

The objective of the Gyan Setu Program was to “bridge the gaps of learning in children of marginalized communities and mainstream to them in the available and existing primary education system”.

Sathi focuses on quality education for children through Digital classes and Digital schools in the Harringtonganj block. Currently, approx (1132) children are the beneficiaries. Education is a boon for living an integrated, respectful life. Digital Classes and digital schools are an approach to improve the status of education in Harringtonganj. Cultural differences, Financial Crunches, and Gender Inequality discourage children from learning, and these pressures became more pronounced when it comes to underprivileged children. To mitigate the situation SATHI works as a bridge and makes the relationship stronger between education and community children. SATHI nurtures children to think critically, empathize, and rely on them.
Digital classes and Digital School creates a bridge that mitigates the gap and enhances knowledge of education without any biases.
