Board Members(SATHI)

  • Mr. Shashi Bhushan Singh – (Chairman SATHI-UP)

    He is influenced by the Gandhian Ideology of an Integrated Rural Development approach. In his student life, he participated with dedication in Sampurna Kranti Andolan 1974, led by Jai Prakash Narayan Ji. During this movement, he spent ten months in jail. He was a social activist in his student life. He is associated with PANI since 1996. He has coordinated four major projects in PANI, two projects were on health issues, and the other two were on women's rights and livelihood issues in a rights-based approach. Since December 2007, he has been leading a Program Support Team-PST as a Team Leader in PANI, which has been set up for the SDTT-Supported Empowering Rural Women-ERW program in Eastern Uttar Pradesh. He has a lot of experience in project implementation at the grass root. Since 2004 he is associated with Supporting Association for Thematic and Holistic Initiatives-SATHI-UP. Currently, he is playing a major role in the institutional strengthening of member CSOs of SATHI (about 400 members).


    Experiences
    1. Working with People’s Action for National Integration-PANI for 15 years and having experience in heading projects implemented in partnership modes.
    2. Currently handling the responsibilities as Program Support Team Leader that has been set up to provide technical & handholding support to SDTT-supported program named –Empowering Rural Women-ERW
    3. Headed a state-level Association of 362 grassroots-level CSOs for the last 11 years with a focus on strengthening grassroots CSOs in underdeveloped regions of Uttar Pradesh.
    4. Attended an international workshop on maternal and neo-natal health in Bangladesh
    5. Received International Training on Human Rights from Dignity International in Indonesia in December 2011.
    Major Achievement
    • Institutional Capacity Building inputs provided to 300 CSOs so far.
    • Organized RTI campaign successfully in 16 districts in 2007.
    • Organized Gram Swaraj Campaign to promote women’s leadership in PRI with 112 CSOs in 16 districts (during the PRI election 2010).
    • Providing training to project staff of member CSOs
    • Conducted some evaluations and studies on an assignment basis.
    • Provided consultancy for the training of CRPs and project staff of UNDP’s SWAAYAM project (During 2012)

  • Mr.Girijesh Kumar Pandey- (Secretary)

    He is a man who followed the Gandhian ideology of the Integrated Rural Development Approach of Gram Swaraj. He was motivated by Sampurna Kranti Andolan - 1974 led by Jai Prakash Narayan Ji, and the Samajwadi ideology of Dr. Manohar Lohia. He dedicated himself to spreading the beliefs of profound personality. He worked for Gram Swaraj. His concern for the welfare of society makes up his mind and has given birth to Vikas Bharti Organization. He is the secretary of SATHI-UP.

  • Ms.Savita Suman (Vice President of SATHI-UP)

    She is an outstanding and experienced social worker. She has served the social sector since 1989. She runs the organization Gramin Vikas Prayas Samiti as a Chief Functionary. She received C Subramaniam Award from National Foundation, New Delhi, and Mahila Sikshya and Suraksha Award from Uttar Pradesh Government.

  • Mr.Daya Shankar Singh (Board Member)

    He is a master in the multi-sectoral field of social work that includes health, women's empowerment, livelihood, disaster management, and education with the vulnerable community. He is an expert in self-discipline, self-motivated with unstrained adaptability, and seeks an environment that encourages learning and creativity. He enhances his knowledge and experience in social work through personal and professional growth. He motivates his team through training sessions that enhance skills that add value to the team. He is an expert in team management, and effective communication, a motivational speaker, skill trainer, goal and target oriented, and trying hard to develop these qualities in others.

  • Mr.Rajdev Chaturvedi (Treasurer SATHI-UP)

    He is a prominent and well-experienced social worker. He is the chief functionary of Gramin Purnarnirman Sansthan. He works in the social sector for the last 25 years. He always tight his back when there is a call for the socio-economic betterment of vulnerable people and society. His expertise in Health, Nutrition, and Women Agro based livelihood, Education, and women empowerment makes him more connected with society. His international exposure adds up value to his work and the learning brightens the knowledge of others.

  • Mr. Giridharilal Tripathi - (Board member)

    He completed his degree in social work in the year 1980. He is passionate about social work, which sparked glitter when he joined Khadi Gramodaya Sansthan. He participated in various activities led by Sansthan. His passion for social work motivated him. He registered a society named Rashtriya Asahaya Sewashram Parishad in the year 1996. He was part of Jalprusha Rajendra Singh Rana. He has experience with environmental issues, and that experience helped him to resolve and put steps forward to work on environmental issues.

  • Mohd Nasim Ansari (Board Member SATHI-UP)

    He is a passionate social worker, working at the grass root level. His educational qualification enhanced his skills in the social sector. He is a master's, B.ed, and Diploma Degree in Rural Development Management, Journalism, and Computer application. He pursued Teaching for three years, eleven years as a press reporter in print media, and seven years in the Adult Literacy Program. He is a trainer on gender, a state-level master trainer of Panchayati Raj, and a district level-trainer of Adult Literacy. He was awarded "Best Personality of India in 2015" by Friendship Forum. He is a member of an Advisory Committee of Pre Conception-Pre Natal Diagnostic Technique "PCPNDT," a member of the women empowerment committee, a child marriage committee, a Beti Bachao Beti Padhao committee, an executive member of Zila Saksharta Samiti, Bamboo Mission, Block CWC, and PLV by DLSA, NRHM, and a Service Provider against Domestic Violence Committee. He is a regional Coordinator of SATHI-Uttar-Pradesh, and MASVAW-U.P and a founder member of SATHI. He is an expert in Health, Education, and livelihood, which made him close to social work and gave birth to Tarun Chetna Organization.

  • Pathani Bahera (Board Member)

    Pathani Bahera is a board member of SATHI-UP. For the last 27 years, he is working in the social sector. He is a man who is a passionate person, good in accounts and finance. Currently, he is working in PANI Sansthan as a senior account manager. He is a graduate from Berhampur University Gunjam Orissa .His passion for the sky started as a cashier, and the experience turned vast when he joined PANI Sansthan as an accountant in the People's Plan Project and looked after 2880 projects under CCF. He also worked as an accountant in the People's Plan Project under the project of Aid International India. He enlightened his career by joining the Lok Shakti project as an accountant manager. He has a good hold on finance, projects, funding, partner NGO compliances, and capacity-building training for accounting personnel.

  • Ms.Ranjana Singh (Board Member)

    Ms. Ranjana Singh is an entrepreneur. For social development and women empowerment, Ranjana headed the responsibility of the secretary in Aawahan, "the new voice" organization. She is interested in other social issues and working for marginalized and poor people, empowerment of women and youth, and social mapping. Ranjana focused on democratic values. She is empowering Self Help Groups and women of "Swyamshayta" groups, working on the grass root level. She has participated in Awareness programs like Environment Awareness Campaign, Pulse Polio/Aids protection program, Tree Plantation campaign, Hepatitis 'B' protection campaign, and UNICEF training program.

  • Mr. Shameem Abbasi (Board Member)

    Mr.Shameem Abbasi is masters in social work and economics from Gorakhpur University. He was passionate about social work for vulnerable society from his adolescence. His sensitivity towards marginalized people and biased tradition made him more passionate. He was highly motivated by Mahatma Gandhi's struggle and attitude toward development. He later joined the Organization of Rural Poor(ORP)(A National Level Development Organization associated with and blessed by Shree Jaiprakash Narayan) for his vision of the development of society . He registered an organization named -Gramin Vikas Sansthan in 1989. His experience in the field of mobilization of the community developed leadership, and advocacy among youth and women, mentoring and encouraging the Human Resources so that they light up for the community welfare.
