Supporting Association for Thematic and Holistic Initiatives (SATHI) is a voluntary organization
working towards the development of marginalized communities. SATHI envisions an inclusive
and progressive society; where everyone is growing holistically and contributing to
multidimensional human development. It has been established to achieve the vision of Gram
Swaraj; in which every villager/citizen realizes their human potential and contributes to the
development of the village as well as the nation through a participatory, transparent, and
accountable local self-governance system.
It was conceptualized and founded by a renowned Gandhian Thinker and Social Activist Late
Shree Paras Bhai with his 24 colleagues in 1992; and registered as a formal organization in July
2004 under Societies Registration Act 21, 1860. The founder of SATHI, Late Shree Paras Bhai
was a follower of Gandhian ideology and part of promoting Gram Swaraj initiatives post-
independence in most underdeveloped regions of the country.
